Across the Editors Desk – John Parks
John writes in response to the Western Sierra Helicopter Meet coming up the last weekend of May:
John writes – The event you are referring to in May, does everybody camp out or how does it work? I am interested in attending if my schedule will allow. I will visit the web site you sent me and thank you for keeping me posted. The company I rent the heli from has an R66 in Mammoth, they just took it down 3 weeks ago to fly tours, but unfortunately the lack of snow has not been kind to the tour business, but I may be able to fly it in, in may, i am sure there are some people that haven’t seen one yet as there are few on the west coast, but if not I will fly down a R44 if I can make it.

John also writes in response to “Tell Us A Little Bit About You” survey that is part of the automated “welcome to the club” email series.
John writes – In response the scorpion 1, I my son and I would love to finish building it, he is 14 years old and has just finished his 5th lesson and was able to hold a hover for the first time. We have a machine and welding shop and are well versed in mechanical theory, this would be right up are alley. We would love to help or take on the project. Let me know how we can get involved.

Editors Comments:
As you all should know by now, the club has two projects to work on. The first one is the club helicopter simulator in which we have been working on for about three years. We did not work on it all last year due to funding problems.
The other project, which we haven’t started yet, is a Rotorway Scorpion I helicopter. This helicopter belongs to Jewgo Min and he has offered it to the club as a project.
